A new year, a new way!

This whole blog thing is totally new to me but I am determined to learn it! Wow, I can't believe we are already into 2010 a whole month. This new year has brought many trials already, but I know they only make you reflect on what's the true meaning of our life here on earth. We grow so much from the trials placed upon us and I love that.
Our little family is doing great! We keep way too busy but I guess that's just life. Chris is in his 3rd year as the principal of UME here in Evanston and is enjoying his wonderful stafff. The kids love having dad around at school everyday. I am so grateful for all his hard work especially because it allows me to pursue my dreams and goals. We teach an after school enrichment class together that is lots of fun. Annie turned 12 in December, I can't believe I have a 12 year old!!!! She is such a great kid. She loves young women and has a great heart. She is in middle school now, we all can remember how hard that was, ahhhh! She seems to handle it well but she is so boy crazy!!! I keep thinking "not already...". Beckham is now in 2nd grade and that blows my mind! He is such a brilliant, kind little boy. He is getting ready to be baptized in March and is so excited. We attended a fireside with him last Sunday and he really enjoyed learning more about it. He loves school and what a huge blessing that is! He is still a runt and probably will always be :) He finally fits into size 6 jeans just as he will be turning 8. Our little drama queen McKye... she is such a sweetheart. She started kindergarten this year and loves her teacher and learning new things each day. Chris has been working really hard with her the past year on reading and she loves her time with him each night reading "her" books! She is such a beautiful little girl! Her hair is finally down to her bum and she is so proud. She loves friends and has so many! We are so lucky with Annie, Beckham and McKye that they are so easy going, fit in so well and are blessed with wonderful friends. Now for little Jack... He is the glue that sticks us all together. You know when you have a baby and everyone is so excited and first then it slowly fades away... not the case with Jack! They love him more each day! They can't wait to get him out of bed, make him laugh, wrestle him, or just see him. We are so blessed to have such wonderful kids! Jack turns 10 months on the 6th of February, it seems like time has flied with him. He is honestly the best baby, it makes me a little scared to have another one :) . He is always happy with exceptions of when he misses his nap. He always has a smile on his face and loves everyone. There isn't a moment of the day he goes without attention. The second we walk into Chris' school he gets bombarded with attention and loves every second of it. He is starting to stand on his own... scary! He will soon be into even more than he is now. I call him my little tasmanian devil because he can create disaster in seconds :) . He and his dad are hooked at the hip. He is his dad's pride and joy! Whenever he sees Chris he gets so excited and goes straight to him. He is the perfect addition to our family.
Brittania and Korbin are doing well! She is such a wonderful mom. We have had the pleasure of having them come up and stay a few times lately! It is so much fun to be a grandma even at my age! :)
We decided our first Christmas together that rather than give our children gifts for Christmas that we would take them on a vacation and create eternal memories with them as a family. This year we had the opportunity to take them to Hawaii on the island of Kauai! We had a blast... once we finally got there :) . We had quite the time getting there but it was worth every second once we arrived. You realize how brilliant God is whenever you visit another place and see of its beauty! Kauai was such a peaceful, relaxed place. There was not one thing we didn't LOVE! We did so many fun things which I will touch on when I post the pics. It was a vacation our children will NEVER forget. It's something that doesn't have to be opened, require AA batteries, be charged, or ever get lost! Memories last FOREVER!!!
Now for the trials... A couple weeks ago my dad was rushed to the emergency room where they found his blood pressure was up to 230/185 ahhhh! they treated him and sent him home. They spent the next week monitoring him and his health. On Friday the 22nd they decided to do a cat scan and found blood on his brain. They immediatly rushed him to Univ. of Utah neuro clinic. After many, many tests they still cannot find the cause of the blood. This can been seen as a good thing ( as they claim) or a confusing thing. Either way the Lord has blessed us in allowing him to still be here with us. He is still there being monitored for a few more days. It is so crazy when you come so close to losing someone so close to you. We are very lucky and I thank my Heavenly Father for that.
Chris and I are doing great! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful, worthy husband. We have made it our goal to attend the temple once a month and have loved being there together so much! We recently started a family history class and are really enjoying it. We have found many on his side that need their work done and are getting that prepared to do in Feb. Our life is a constant adventure and I love that. We recently took up coyote hunting together, along with Jack and have such a fun time together in the outdoors.
As for me... I find myself never stopping. There is no greater job than that of a mother! I love being a mom and the blessings that come along with it. I have 6 wonderful children one of which I hope someday will except me and see of my goodness. I believe if we live rightously we will be blessed!
I am still taking classes to finish my degree. However, it seems like it will never end!!! I am however so grateful for the opportunity to continue with it.
Life is a wonderful thing and I take time each day to write down 3 things big or small that I am grateful for, we are truly so blessed! I hope all is well with each of you. Hopefully I can figure this blog thing out and keep in touch better!
